5.215 Parkin Control Officer and Communit Service S ecialist. Parkin <br />control officer 9 <br />s and community service specialists are authorized <br />to issue citations and notices of violation of parking provisions of this <br />code to violators, but are not authorized to arrest, Such citations or <br />notices of violation shall be in a form approved by the city attorney and <br />need not be verified by oath. <br />Section 8. Subsection ~~} of Section 5.695 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />is amended to provide: <br />5.695 ~oundme,nt of ileh i cl es . <br />~1} When th~~~s code or state law provides for im oundin a vehicle <br />it shall be iv p g ' <br />g en a citation and may be removed by ar under the direction of <br />a police officer, parking control officer, or community services ecialist of <br />the cit • taken to the p <br />y~ city fac~lit~es for storing vehicles or to some reput- <br />able motor vehicle storage facility and kept there until it is redeemed or <br />sold. <br />Section 9, Subsection ~1} of Section 5.980 of the Eugene Code 1971 is <br />amended to provide: <br />5.98o Possessor lien for Towin and Stora e, <br />~1} Any person who, at the request of a police officer, arkin <br />control officer or communit se • p 9 <br />y , rv~ce spec~al~st of the city, tows and stores <br />a vehicle as authorized by this chapter: <br />~a}, Except as otherwise provided in this section, shall <br />have a 1~en on the vehicle and its contents in accordance with <br />DRS 81.152 far the just and reasonable charges for towi n and <br />stora a services g <br />g performed; <br />fib} May retain possession of the vehicle and contents until <br />such charges are paid; and <br />~c} Shall provide written notice, approved by the city, <br />conta~n~ng ~nfarmation on the procedures necessary to obtain the <br />release of the vehicle and judicial review or hearing as rovided <br />in sections 5.67 p <br />5 and 5.697 of this chapter to each person who <br />seeks to redeem the vehicle. <br />Section lo.
