in section 5.010 of this code, police cadets acting at the direction of and <br />under the direct supervision of a police officer shall have the same author- <br />ity as a palice officer when directing traffic on the streets or public <br />thoroughfares of the city. <br />~2} No person sha11 fail to obey a lawful order, signal ar direc- <br />tion of a duly authorized police cadet while such individual is en a ed in <br />directin traffic r ~ g g <br />g, pu suant to.the provisions of subsection ~1} of this sec- <br />t~on and ~s wearing an authorized ~ns~gn~a or uniform. <br />Section 4. Subsection ~6} of Section 5.225 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />is amended to provide: <br />5.225 Prohibited Sto in , Standin and Parkin . <br />~6} In the event a vehicle has been found standing or parked, in <br />violation of subsections ~1} and ~2} of this section, in addition to and <br />after issuance of a citation for violation, the vehicle ma be removed <br />~mmediatel under t ~ ~ .y <br />,y , he d~rect~on of a police officer, parking cantrol officer <br />or community service spec~al~st and impounded according to the provisions of <br />section 5.695 of this chapter. <br />Section 5, Subsection ~3} of Section 5,231 of the Eugene Code, 1911 <br />is amended to provide: <br />5.231 Prohibited Parkin -Immobilization of vehicles Involved. <br />~3} A parking control officer, community service specialist or <br />police officer of the city who finds a vehicle so located that its o erator <br />p <br />or owner or both are i n v i of at i On of this section shat 1 i mmobi 1 i ze the <br />vehicle in accordance with section 5.700 of this code. <br />Section 6. Section 5.260 of the Eugene Cade, 1971, is amended to ro- <br />p <br />vide: <br />5.260 Action b Police Officer Parkin Control Officer or Communit <br />Service S ecialist. Whenever a police officer, parking control <br />afficer or community service specialist shall find a motor vehicle arked <br />unattended with t p <br />he ~gn~t~on key in the vehicle in violation of section 5.255, <br />the officer is authorized to remove the key from the vehicle and deliver the <br />key to the person in charge of the police station. <br />Secti„on 7.
