6. At the May 26, 1988 community forum, the Task Force <br />reviewed the draft Study with about 35 people. Citizens <br />testified and completed a survey form on the draft document. on <br />May 31, 1988, the Task Force discussed the comments generated, <br />made final revisions to the draft Study and unanimously forwarded <br />the document to the Planning Commission and City Council for <br />review and approval. <br />7. In late May, 1988, the Eugene Planning Commission <br />conducted a tour of the 19th and Agate study area, on June 7, <br />1988, the Eugene Planning Commission held a work session on the <br />June draft 19th and Agate Special Area Study. on June 8, 1988 <br />the Eugene Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the <br />draft Study. <br />8. on June ~7, 1988, the Eugene Plannin Commission <br />g <br />recommended a revised version of the draft 19th and Agate Special <br />Area Study be adopted by the Eugene City Council. <br />9. The Department of Land Conservation and Development was <br />forwarded a copy of the 19th and Agate Special Area Study on June <br />29, 1985. <br />10. The Eugene City Council held a public hearing on the <br />19th, and Agate, Special Area Study on July 11, 1988 and <br />considered testimony and the recommendation forwarded b~ the <br />Eugene Plannin Commission, y <br />g <br />11. Based on the above record and findings, the findings <br />contained in the Study and the staff pates, which are <br />incorporated herein, the Eugene City Council concludes that the <br />19th and Agate Special Area Study as amended is consistent with <br />the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Area General Plan and other <br />applicable plans and policies. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Based on the above findings, which are <br />incorporated herein, the policies set forth in the 19th and A ate <br />Special Area Stud attache g <br />y d as Exhibit A are adopted as a <br />refinement to the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Area General <br />Plan for the 19th and Agate Special Area Study area. <br />Section 2. The goals in the Study are recognized as broad <br />statements of philosophy describing the hopes of the <br />neighborhood. The implementation strategies set forth in the <br />19th and Agate Special Area Study are recognized as potential <br />means of ,implementing adopted policies.
