Exhibit B.
Revisions and Errata
Cn June 27, 1988, the Eugene Planning Commission recommended that the draft
19th and Agate Special Area Study be approved with the changes noted below.
Changes are shown in legislative format with additions in bold and
deletions in ~~brackets~,
1. Page 11-- Amend Implementation Strategy 8.3 to remove reference to
restricting right turn movements and encourage evaluation of other ways
to make the 19th and Agate intersection safer for pedestrians. Amend
the strategy as follows:
S.3 The City should consider changes din signings at the intersection
of 19th Avenue and Agate Street to restrict right turn movements
on red lights from 7:44 to 9:44 a.m. and 2:40 to 3:34 p,m. This
wi 11~ make i t safer during peak times when elementary school chi l -
dren are using the intersection,
2. Page 11-- Delete Implementation Strategy 9.4.
~. Rationale: The 19th and Agate Task Force voted on May 31, 1988, NOT to
include the strategy in the draft study. Staff incorrectly included the
~~ item in the June, 1988 version. The Task Force felt that the University
. had already explored use of a shuttle system and had decided that it was
not needed due to the small size of the campus and the proximity of
major uses. In addition, the Task Force wanted to encourage the use of
foot and bicycle traffic and discourage further use of motor vehicles on
the campus.
3. Page 13-- Clarify that Policy 13 and Implementation Strategies 13.1 and
13.2 are not intended to limit future University use of the Condon
School site. Move the discussion under Implementation Strategy 13.1~to
immediately fallow Policy 13. Expand the discussion and amend Implemen-
tation Strategy 13.1 as follows:
"Discussion; This policy recognizes that the University of Oregon
plans to either continue to lease or acquire the Condon School site from
4-J and will plan, administer, ;and oversee any improvements on the site
through its normal campus planning processes. At this time, the Univer-
sity has no plans for the alteration, improvement, or further develop-
ment of the property, It can be expected, however, that as the campus
develops eastward, this site may be further developed for institutional
purposes."
"The University has continued to allow use of the existing play equip-
ment at the southern end of the Condon School site; the University is
not in a position, however, to operate, maintain, or provide for an
enhanced play area."
Revisions and Errata, June 2?, 1985 Page 1
