within a lodging house. <br />b. The tenant of each qualifying dwelling or <br />sleeping room shall be responsible for periodically <br />testing the unit's detector. The building owner or <br />designee shall not be responsible if a tenant removes a <br />battery from a detector, <br />c. Upon failure of the detector, the tenant shall <br />deliver a written notice of failure to the building <br />owner or his designee. <br />d. The owner shall replace or repair the defective <br />detector within ten X10} days of the date of notice. <br />4. Na owner shall sell, transfer, or otherwise Canvey <br />a private dwelling without first installing smoke detectors <br />within the dwelling as prescribed in section 10.3201} as <br />amended. <br />fib} Every existing and new structure or building with a Group <br />SR Occupancy, Divisions 1, 2, and 3 shall be equipped with an <br />approved electrically supervised fire alarm and detector system. <br />Audible alarm devices shal 1 be capable of being heard throughout <br />the building. A11 rooms utilized for sleeping purposes and the exit <br />systems} shall be provided with electrically supervised automatic <br />particles-of-combustion detection systems conforming tv the provi- <br />sions of NFPA No. 72-A, 1979 edition. Structures mare than two <br />stories or facilities utilizing more than one building shall pro- <br />vide annunciation capabilities sa located to provide the mast <br />direct alerting of the persons} immediately responsible for the <br />protected room, zone or area. <br />A11 combustion detection, fire ai arm and automatic sprinkler <br />systems shall be electrically interconnected and have an automatic <br />auxiliary power supply acceptable to the State Fire Marshal which <br />will maintain operating energy fora period of at least eight hours. <br />The bu~ld~ng owner or his designee shall inspect and service <br />each detector every six months. R record shall be maintained for <br />each detector listing the date installed, dates inspected, and <br />dates serviced. This record shall be available for inspection <br />by the fire marshal. <br />X27} Section 11.141 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to read: <br />Section 11.101 - Outdoor Burnin and Fire Hazards. <br />~a} Except as subsection fib} of this section allows, no <br />person may kindle, maintain, or allow to be kindled or maintained <br />on premises under his control, an outdoor fire. <br />~ b} The following outdoor fires are permissible <br />1. Fires used far cooking only. <br />Z. Recreation fires in fire pits in officially <br />approved campsites. <br />3. Fires set and maintained for training public fire <br />protection personnel in fire fighting. <br />4. Fires set and maintained by written permission of <br />the fire marshal to remove or alleviate afire hazard. <br />~c} No person may accumulate or allow to accumulate on pre- <br />mises under his control materials that the fire marshal deems to <br />constitute afire hazard.
