No exempt amounts are permitted in Group R <br />occupancies or offices or retail sales portions of <br />Group B Dccupancies. <br />2. Except for cylinders not exceeding 20 cubic <br />feet stared within a gas storage cabinet or fume hood, <br />no exempt amounts are permitted in Group A, E, I or M <br />occupancies or in classrooms of Graup B Occupancies. <br />3. Fire Extin uishin S stem. In addition to the re- <br />quirements of Section 80.301~p}, the following requirements <br />shall apply: <br />A. Gas cabinets for the storage of cylinders shall <br />be internally sprinklered. <br />B. Alternate fire extinguishing systems may be used <br />as a supplement to an approved sprinkler system in either <br />storage areas or gas cabinets. <br />4. Ex losion Ventin ar Su cession. When highly toxic <br />flammable gases are stored in rooms outside of gas cabinets, <br />the storage rooms shall be provided with explosion venting or <br />suppression in accordance with the provisions of Section <br />80.301~q}, <br />5. Sill Control Drains a and Containment. Spi11 con- <br />trol, drainage and containment shall not be required for the <br />storage of highly toxic compressed gases. <br />6. Exhaust Ventilation. <br />A, ventilated Area. Storage of cylinders sha11 be <br />within ventilated gas cabinets or within a ventilated <br />separate gas storage room. Storage Of portable and sta- <br />tionary tanks shall be within a separate ventilated room <br />without ether occupancy or use. If gas cabinets are pro- <br />vided, the room or area in which they are located shall <br />have independent exhaust ventilation. <br />Exhaust systems for gas cabinets and separate gas <br />storage rooms shall be designed to handle the accidental <br />release of gas. Such exhaust systems shal l be capable of <br />diluting, absorbing, neutralizing, burning ar otherwise <br />processing the entire contents of the largest single tank <br />or cylinder of gas stored. Systems utilized for such <br />processing shall be dsesigned as a treatment system. If <br />a total containment system is utilized, the system shall <br />be designed to handle the maximum anticipated pressure <br />Drdinance - 33 <br />
