Guard pasts or other means <br />shall be provided to protect exterior storage tanks from vehicular <br />damage. When guard posts are installed, the posts shall be: <br />1. Constructed of steel not less than four inches in <br />diameter and concrete filled; <br />2. Spaced not more than four feet between posts on <br />center; <br />3. Set not less than three feet deep in a concrete <br />footing of not less than 15-inch diameter; <br />4. Set with the top of the posts not less than three <br />feet above ground; and <br />5, Located not less than five feet from the tank. <br />fix} Clearance from Combustibles. The area surrounding an <br />exterior storage area or tank shall be kept clear of combustible <br />materials and vegetation for a minimum distance of 30 feet. <br />~y} Fire Access Roadwa s and Water Su 1 . Fire access <br />roadways and approved water supplies shall be provided for exter- <br />ior storage areas in accordance with the fallowing: <br />1. Fire Access,,.,~Roadways. Fire apparatus access roadways <br />shall be provided ~to within 150 feet of all portions of an <br />exterior storage area. Such access roadways shall comply with <br />the provisions of 5ectian 10.101. <br />2. Water Supply. An approved water supply shall be pro- <br />vided. F-ire hydrants or other approved means capable of <br />supplying the required fire flow shall be provided to within <br />150 feet of all portions of an exterior storage area. The <br />water supply and fire hydrants shall comply with the provi- <br />sions of Section 10.301. <br />~z} Noncombustible Floor. Except far surfacing, floors of <br />storage areas shall be of noncombustible construction. <br />~aa} Profession,al,~Engineer. The chief may require design sub- <br />mittals to bear the stamp of a professional engineer. <br />Section 80.342 -Hazardous Materials, Ex 1 os i ves and Bl ast i n <br />Agents. Storage of explosives and blasting agents shall be in accordance <br />with the provisions of Article l1. Storage of fireworks shal 1 be i n accord- <br />ance with the provisions of Article 78. <br />5ectian 80.303 -Hazardous Materials, Com ressed Gases. <br />~a} Indoor Storage. <br />--__ <br />1. General. Indoor storage of compressed gases shall be <br />in accordance with the provisions of Article 74. In addition, <br />storage of highly toxic compressed gases shall be in accordance <br />with the provisions of this subsection and the general provi- <br />sions specified in Section 80.301. <br />2. Exempt Amounts. When the amount of toxic or highly <br />toxic compressed gases stored i n one control area exceeds that <br />specified in table 80.303-A, such storage shall be within a <br />room yr building conforming tv the Structural Specialty Code <br />requirements fora Group H, Division 1 occupancy. <br />Ordinance - 32 <br />
