gallon shall be used. <br />* The UFC Standard 19-3 classification system does not cur- <br />rently provide for Class 4water-reactive materials. <br />3. Type of Construction. In addition to the provisions <br />of the Structural Spec~~al~ty Code, buildings or roams used for <br />the storage of water-reactive materials shall be of noncom- <br />bustible construction. <br />4. Detached Storage. Detached storage shall be provided <br />when the amount stored exceeds 2,000 pounds of Class 3 material <br />or 50,000 pounds of Class 2 material. Detached storage build- <br />ings shall be single story and without basement or crawl space. <br />5. Ei uid-.Tight Floor. In addition to the provisions of <br />Section 80.301~z}, floors of storage areas shall be of 1 iquid- <br />tight construction. <br />6. Waterproof Rovm. Rooms or areas used for the storage <br />of water-reactive materials shall be constructed so as to re- <br />sist the penetration of water through the use of water-proof <br />materials. Piping carrying water far other than approved auta- <br />matic fire sprinkler systems shall not be permitted within <br />such rooms or areas, <br />1. Smoke and, He,at,,,.wenting. Storage areas shall be pro- <br />vided with a means to vent smoke and heat in afire or other <br />emergency in accordance with the provisions of the Building <br />Code. <br />8. Class 3 water-reactive material s shall not be <br />stored in basements. <br />D.
