ORDINANCE N0. ~~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING PANHANDLE LOT5; AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 9.015 AND 9.095 4F THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 9.015 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended by adding in alphabetical order therein the following: <br />9.015 <br />Pan_an 1e lots or pa <br />,,, , rcels. Lots or parcels that <br />the city has approved~~~~~with~~~ less frontage on a public <br />street than is normally required. The "panhandle" is <br />an access corridor to lots or parcels located behind <br />lots ar parcels with normally required street frontage. <br />Section 2. Section 9.095 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended to read and provide: <br />9.095 S ecif is ~~odif ication of Provisions -~ Panhandle Parcel <br />and Lot Developments. The purpose of this section is <br />to encourage more intensive land utilization and compact growth <br />by permitting modification of the frontage requirements of this <br />ordinance for certain large residential lots. Approval of re- <br />duced frontage on panhandle lots and parcels shall be based on <br />the requirements of section 9.090 and the following minimum <br />standards: <br />~a} A11 rear lots and parcels must be at least <br />6,040 square feet, exclusive of the panhandle; <br />fib} All front lots and parcels must be at least <br />4,500 square feet; <br />~c} minimum panhandle width shall be as follows, <br />whether or not the panhandle is used for access: <br />One rear lot or parcel l5 feet <br />Two or more rear lots or parcels 25 feet <br />4d} Minimum access paving width of the panhandle <br />or abutting driveway used for access shall be as follows: <br />One rear lot or parcel . 12 feet <br />Two or more rear lots or parcels . 24 feet* <br />~*to preserve existing natural features, paving <br />width may be reduced to 17~-1/2 feet, except for <br />the first 25 feet back from the sidewalk, with <br />the traffic engineer's approval, if both sides of <br />the driveway are landscaped in accordance with a <br />landscape plan.} <br />~ e } A maximur~i of four rear lots or parcels may <br />be assigned to a single panhandle. <br />Ordinance - l <br />
