ORDINANCE NO. _ ~ Q g ~ 3 <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE ~1ESTERN FIRE CHIEFS AND <br />INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CONFERENCE OFFICIALS' UNIFORM <br />FIRE CODE WITH CERTAIN MODIFICATIONS, ADDITIONS AND <br />DELETIONS, AMENDING SECTIONS 5.190, 8.195 AND $«200 <br />AND DELETING SECTION 5.203 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY of EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 8.190 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is <br />hereby amended to read: <br />$.190 Uniform Fire Code - Adoration. <br />~1} Except as sections 8.195 and $.200 of this <br />code provide to the contrary, the city hereby adopts as part <br />of its fire prevention code the 1979 edition of the Uniform <br />Fire Code of the International Conference of Building <br />Officials and of the Western Fire Chiefs Association, and as <br />the same may be amended hereafter. Copies of the code shall <br />be filed in triplicate in the office of the city finance <br />officer. <br />~ 2 } The city also adopts as part of its fire code <br />sections 5.195 and $.204 of the Eugene Code, 1971. <br />Section 2. Section 8.195 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is <br />hereby amended to read: <br />8.195 Bureau of Fire Prevention. <br />41} The Bureau of Fire Prevention, which has pre- <br />viously been estabished and which shall operate under the <br />supervision of the chief of the fire department, shall <br />enforce this fire code. <br />~2 } The officer in charge of the Bureau of Fire <br />Prevention shall be the fire marshal, who shall be appointed <br />by the chief of the fire department for a term to continue <br />during the marshal's goad behaviour and satisfactory service. <br />~3 } The chief of the fire department may de tai 1 as <br />deputies and inspectors such members of the department as he <br />deems necessary for the proper functioning of the Bureau of <br />Fire Prevention. <br />~4} Sections 2.103 to 2,104 are deleted from the <br />Uniform Fire Code as adopted by section 5.190. <br />Section 3.
