18843 <br />the master box location, subject to final inspec- <br />tion and approval of the entire private system by <br />the fire chief. <br />fig} The perrnitee shall install the master <br />box and make all connections between the master <br />box and the municipal fire alarm system. <br />~h} The granting of a permit for a connection <br />as herein provided or the expenditure of money pur- <br />suant thereto shall not be deemed to create any <br />vested right in the permitee or any estoppel <br />against the city, and the city may require the <br />disconnection of a private alarm system or systems <br />whenever it is determined that such action is in <br />the best interest of the city. <br />X13} Section 10.307 of the Uniform Fire Code is <br />amended to read: <br />Sec. 10.307 -- Fire Alarm Systems. <br />uunrrur~u i.~i~~u~..r~r~~.rrw~i.iioir~w~n~.oomm~rr~ <br />~a} Fire alarm systems shall be installed and <br />maintained in buildings, both new and existing as <br />required by this section. <br />1. An approved electrically supervised <br />manually-operated local fire alarm system shall <br />be provided in all Group E occupancies <br />Educational and day care} with an occupant <br />load of mare than 50 as determined by the <br />Structural Specialty Code, Section 811. <br />~, An approved fire alarm system shall <br />be provided far all Group I occupancies <br />Institutional} as required by the Structural <br />Specialty Code, Section 1009. <br />3. An approved fire alarm system shall <br />be provided for all occupancies mare than one <br />story in height having sleeping accommodations <br />for more than 10 people above the first story <br />above grade, as determined by the Structural <br />Specialty Code, Section 1216. <br />4. An approved fire alarm system shall <br />be provided for all Group SR occupancies as <br />required by Structural Specialty Code, Section <br />1313. <br />fib} No signal system or intercommunicating <br />system used for any purpose other than fire warning <br />meets the requirements of this article without spe- <br />d f is approval of the fire chief . <br />~c} Installation, inspection and maintenance <br />of the fire alarm system shall be according to the <br />standards set forth in the NFPA Standard No. 7 ~~-A <br />X1975 Edition}. <br />~d} Stations for operating any manually- <br />operated fire alarm system shall be placed imme- <br />~5_ <br />
