<br />CITY OF EUGENE <br /> <br />CII~i I.'l1E NQ. e;,-Q;1-0.J .. . <br /> <br />INTER-DEPARTMENTAL MEMORANDUM <br />CITY ATTORNEY - CIVIL DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />To: <br /> <br />Ed Smith, Executive Director <br />PARes <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />June 13, 1989 <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Amendment to Park Rule 1.007 <br /> <br />Enclosed is the original of an Administrative Order amending <br />Park Rule 1.007 we have prepared at the request of the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />This amendment accomplishes two things: (1) it prohibits <br />possession as well as consumption of alcoholic liquor and malt <br />beverages in the specified park areas, and (2) language similar <br />to that in the motor vehicle code for open containers has been <br />added. <br /> <br />We believe these amendments clarify the original intent of <br />the rule and will eliminate some of the enforcement problems <br />currently being experienced. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please contact either myself or <br />Sgt. Greg Zahar with the Police Department.
