ORDINANCE NOr l$945 <br />AN ORDINANCE CO~~CERNING ANIMAL CONTROL; AMEND- <br />ING SECTIONS 4.355, 4.375, 4.3$0, 4.4Q0, AND <br />4.4Q5 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN A5 FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The caption and def initiot~ of "Abandoned dog" as <br />contained in Section 4.355 of the Eugene Code, 1971, are hereby <br />amended, and a new definition for "Animal" is hereby added in <br />alphabetical order therein, all to read and provide: <br />4..355 Animal Control - Definitions. For purposes of sections <br />4.355 to 4.450 of this chapter, the following words and <br />phrases shall mean: <br />Abandoned as a transitive verb with an animal as <br />its object means: <br />~a} To leave for more than ~4 hours without <br />food and water or needed medical care; <br />fib} To leave a barking dog for more than <br />~4 hours without supervision; or <br />~c} To fail to reclaim within 24 hours <br />after receiving official notice of imprisonment <br />of the animal. <br />Animal. A non-human animate being capable of <br />voluntary motion and of rapid motor response to stimu- <br />lation. <br />Section 2. Subsection ~.l} ~a} , and the dog license fees for <br />unneutered, neutered, and owners 65 years of age or older contained <br />in Subsection ~3} of Section 4.375 of the Eugene Code, 19?1, are <br />hereby amended to read and provide: <br />4.375 Licenses, Fees and E~ce~,tions . <br />~ 1 } Dag licenses . <br />~a} Every owner of a dog which has a set of per- <br />manent canine teeth or has attained the age of sip ~6} <br />months, whichever event occurs first, shall immediately <br />obtain a license for the dog, <br />(3) <br />Dog License Fee - Unneutered Fee $ 5.OQ <br />Dog License Fee - ~~eutered Fee . $ ~.a4 <br />Dog License Fee - Owners 65 years of <br />age or older . . . . $ 2.
