18945 <br />Section 5. Section 4.405 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended to read and provide: <br />4.4 0 5 Impoundment ~- Redem tian and Sale . <br />~l~ Redemption of an impounded animal shall be made <br />by exhibiting satisfactory proof of ownership and by paying <br />the following required fees and charges: <br />~a ~ Impoundment fee ; <br />~.b~ Daily care fee; <br />~.c~ Z,icense and rabies vaccination fees, if <br />required; and <br />Qd} Medical care fees, if required. <br />~2~ 2mpounded animals may be sold or released to <br />another governmental agency charged with the regulations <br />management or care of the animal specie. <br />~3~ when an animal is sold by the dog control auth- <br />ority, the purchaser shall pay any required license and rabies <br />vaccination fees, <br />~4~ ~~o impoundment charge shall be made for an animal <br />released after the municipal court's determination that no <br />violation occurred. <br />~5} ~o live dog sha11 be sold by the dog control auth- <br />ority far surgical or medical, demonstration or vivisection. <br />~6} Except as otherwise provided, if after 12D hours <br />an impounded animal cannot be sold, the dog control authority <br />is authorized and empowered to destroy the animal by any humane <br />method permitted under state law ar this code. <br />Section 6.
