I9oag <br />9.404 Buildin s and Uses Permitted Conditionall The follow- <br />ing buildings and uses are permitted conditionally when <br />all or part of the property is not needed for current public use <br />by the owner. All uses are subject to the general provisions <br />and exceptions beginning with and following section 9.532 and <br />the regulations and procedures for conditional use permits in <br />sections 9.696 to 9.724. If possible, school playgrounds shall <br />be retained for public use. <br />The hearings official may approve a conditional use on sur- <br />plus public property for up to ten years. The hearings official <br />may approve the use for additional ten year periods if the res- <br />ponsible public agency continues to declare the property is not <br />again needed for the former public use. ~r~hen public land is <br />sold for private development, the city shall rezone it according <br />to the procedure for zoning district boundary changes beginning <br />with and follawing section 9.668. <br />~a} Artist and craft studios and galleries. <br />fib} Ballroom and social dance instruction studios. <br />~c} Campus living organizations and single and <br />married student housing. <br />~d} Commercial. horticulture. <br />fie} Commercial radio and television studios. <br />~f} Computer and data processing centers. <br />fig} Convenience commercial and personal service <br />uses when there is a demonstrated demand within one- <br />half mile and the hearings official finds it is not <br />likely the use can otherwise locate within that ser~- <br />~ice area: <br />1. Accountants. <br />2. Attorneys. <br />3. Barber shops. <br />4. Beauty shops. <br />5. Grocery and specialty food stores. <br />6. Physicians, osteopaths, dentists and <br />others licensed by the state to practice the <br />healing arts. <br />7. Self-service laundromats. <br />~h} Group care homesr including those for U. S. <br />veterans. <br />~i} Health studios. <br />~_j} Homes for senior citizens. <br />~k} ~=Manufacturing, assembly, and related storage <br />of the follawing within completely enclosed buildings: <br />1. Electronic equipment and components. <br />2. Precision instruments. <br />3. Optics. <br />l ~~ursing homes. <br />gym} Parking facilities when not available for <br />overnight use. <br />fin} Printing and copying services. <br />~o} Private institutions offering a state <br />licensed vocational curriculur~l. <br />Ordinance - 3 <br />
