Practitioners in the visual arts who <br />are generally recognized by critics and peers as pro- <br />fessionals of serious intent, and who produce works of art. <br />Works of Art, All forms of original creations of visual <br />art, including but not limited to: <br />Painting: all media, including bath portable and <br />permanently-affixed or integrated works such as murals. <br />Sculpture: in the round, bas_reli of , high relief , <br />mobile, fountain, kinetic, electronic, etc., in any material <br />or combination of materials. <br />Prints, clay, drawings, stained glass, mosaics, pho- <br />tography, fiber and textiles, wood, metal, plastics and other <br />materials or combination of materials, calligraphy, and mixed <br />media, any combination of forms of media, including collage. <br />Section 2: Section 2.859 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended by the amendment of subsection ~g~ and the addition of a <br />new subsection shy , to provide: <br />~g 7 Contracts for the purchase or commissioning of <br />works of art. <br />~h~ Contracts for the services of performing artists or <br />visual artists. <br />Section 3: The provisions contained herein concern the <br />public welfare and therefore an emergency is hereby declared to <br />exist, and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed by the City Council this <br />11th day of August, 1982 <br />lCa~...~.. ~crLdt--~a,.~-.~. <br />City Recorder <br />Approved by the Mayor this <br />11th day of August, 1982 <br />Mayor <br />Ordinance -~ 2 <br />
