I$N~'~6 <br />~3~ Any person who commences any work far which a <br />permit is required by this code who has not first obtained <br />a permit therefor sha~,l, if subsequently permitted to obtain <br />a permit, pay double the permit fee for such work, provided, <br />however, that this provision shall not apply to emergency work <br />when it shall be proved to the satisfaction of the administra- <br />tive authority that the work was urgently necessary and that it <br />was not practical to obtain a permit before commencement of the <br />work. In all such cases a permit must be obtained as soon as <br />it is practical to do so, and if there be an unreasonable delay <br />in obtaining a permit, a double fee as herein provided shall <br />still be charged. <br />Section 6. Sections 8.569 and 8.574 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />are hereby amended to provide: <br />8.569 All Work to be Inspected. All plumbing and drainage <br />systems shall be inspected by the administrative auth- <br />ority to insure compliance with the requirements of this~cade. <br />8.57 Notification. <br />~l~ It shall be the duty of the person doing the work <br />authorized by the permit to notify the administrati~re authority, <br />orally or in writing, that the work is ready for inspection. <br />Notification sha11 be given not less than twenty-four ~24~ hours <br />before the work is to be inspected. <br />~2} 1t shall be the duty of the person doing the work <br />authorized by the permit to make sure that the work will pass <br />the tests prescribed in this Cade before giving the inspection <br />notification. <br />Section 7. Sections 8.571, 8.572, 8.573, 8.574, 8.575 8.576 <br />and 8.577 of the Eugene Coder 1971, are hereby repealed. <br />Section 8. There is hereby added to the Eugene Code, 1971, a <br />new section 8.572, to provide: <br />8.572 Plumbing Code Eoard of A ears. <br />~l~ Application for appeal. The owner of a building or <br />structure, or any other person, may appeal to the plumbing code <br />board of appeals from a decision of the administrative authority <br />refusing to grant a ~odif ication of the provisions of the plumb- <br />ing code covering the design or method of construction, or mater- <br />ials to be used, in the construction, alteration or repair of a <br />plumbing system. Application for appeal may be made when it is <br />claimed that the true intent of the plumbing code has been incor- <br />rectly interpreted, the provisions of the plumbing code do not <br />fully apply, dr equally good or better mater~,als~or methods of <br />Qrdinance - 5 <br />
