18'~H6 <br />moved, altered, repaired or replaced, any plumbing, gas or drain- <br />age piping work, or any future or water heating~or~treating <br />equipment, in a building or premises without first obtaining a <br />permit to do the work from the administrative authority. <br />~2} A separate permit shall be obtained for each build- <br />ing or structure. <br />~S} No person shall allow any Qther person not in his <br />employ to do or cause to be done any work under a permit secured <br />by him. <br />~.4} Applicants fox pexma.ts to construct or reconstruct <br />sanitary sewers must also comply with the provisions of the <br />Eugene Code, 1971 when making cuts or excavations ~.n, on or under <br />streets and alleys. <br />8.565 work Not requiring Permit. No permit shall be required <br />for the followa.ng repairT work: The stopping of leaks in <br />drains, soil, waste or gent pipe, provided, however, that should <br />any trap, drainpipe, soil., waste or vent pipe be or become defec- <br />tive and it becomes necessary to remove and replace the same with <br />new material in any part or parts, the same shall be considered <br />as new work and a permit shall be procured and inspection made <br />as herein provided. No permit shall be required for the clear- <br />ing of stoppages yr the repairing of leaks in pipes, valves or <br />fixtures when repairs do not involve or require their replace-~ <br />ment or rearrangement. <br />Section 4. Section 8.566 of the Eugene Code, 19?1 is <br />hereby repealed. <br />Section 5 . The section number , and subsections ~l } , ~3 }. , ~ 4 } , <br />and ~5} of section number 8,568 are hereby repealed, and subsection. <br />~ 2 } thereof is hereby added to section $ . 56 7 of the Eugene Code , 19 71, <br />which is amended to provide: <br />8.567 Application for Permit. <br />~1} Any person legally entitled to apply for and re- <br />ceive a permit shall make appl.ica,tion on forms provided for <br />that purpose. He shall give a description of the character of <br />the work proposed to be done, and the location, ownership, occu- <br />pancy and use of the~premises~in connection therewith.. The ad- <br />ministrative authoxity may require plans, specifications, draw- <br />ings and such gather ~:nfoxmation as he may deem necessary. <br />~2} zf the administrative authority determines that the <br />plans, specifications, drawings, descriptions and information <br />furnished by the applicant are a~n compliance with this code, he <br />shall issue the pexmit applied for upon payment of the required <br />fee that has been established by resolut~;an of the council. <br />ordinance - 4 <br />
