ORDINANCE NO. ~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE DESYGNATrNG THE N~AS4NIC CEN~ETER~' <br />AND HOPE ABBEY MAUSOLEUN~ AS HISTORIC LANDMAR~i5 <br />WITHIN THE CITY DF EUGENE, OREGON. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />Pursuant to Sections 2.442, 2.407 and 2.408 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1971, the City Council has the authority and responsibility, <br />subject to the limitations contained therein, to designate certain <br />buildings, structures, other physical objects, including their <br />sites, and geographic areas witha.n the City as Historic Landmarks. <br />The Eugene Masonic Lodge No, ll AF & AM, has applied for His- <br />toric Landmark designation for the Masonic Cemetery and Hope Abbey <br />Mausoleum. Based upon the reports received from the Historic Re- <br />view Board, the materials that have been transmitted therewith and <br />the evidence presented, the application for designation as Historic <br />Landmarks is consistent with applicable statewide and locally- <br />adopted plans, and the improvements for which Historic Landmark <br />designation has been requested meets one or mare of the criteria <br />required for Historic Landmark designation, <br />Now, therefore, based upon the above findings, and the pre- <br />liminary staff notes and minutes of the Historic Review Board of <br />November 15, 1979, the materials that have been transmitted there- <br />with and the evidence presented, the City Council hereby adopts <br />the specific affirmative findings contained therein, and <br />THE C2TY 4F EUGENE ODES DRDATN AS FoLLQWS: <br />Section 1. Under authority of Section 2.408 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1971, the Masonic Cemetery and Hope Abbey Mausoleum, which <br />are located on the following described real property: <br />Tax Lot 4700 - Assessor's Map 18-03-05-42 <br />The Amended Plat of Masonic Cemetery in Section <br />5, Township l8 South, Range 3 'hest of the Willa- <br />mette Meridian as platted and recorded in Book 2 <br />of plats, Page 75, records of Lane County, Oregon; <br />excluding the following described property: <br />Beginning at the iron rod marking the northeast <br />corner of the Amended Plat; thence, west l18.10 <br />feet along the north line of said cemetery to a <br />point marked by an iron rod; thence, South 41°OS' <br />East 179.54 feet to an iron rod set on the east <br />line of said cemetery; thence North. 135.22 feet <br />to the point of beginning in Lane County, Oregon. <br />are hereby designated as Historic Landmarks. <br />Ordinance - l <br />
