Adding wire of the gauges we use for street lights to the list of metals covered and <br />excluding aluminum beverage cans. Other changes like reducing the minimum ae to resell <br />metal from 18 to 16 are more neutral. The only negative changes I find are reducing the <br />period after conviction for several crimes, during which a person is prohibited from selling <br />certain metals and shortening the period in which checks must be sent from 10 days to 3 <br />days. While these changes weaken the bill, they are not so serious as to reduce our support. <br />I would defer to Ellwood for a law enforcement perspective on any changes to the <br />investigation and prosecution aspects of the bill. <br />All the important aspects of the bill remained in place. <br /> 8 <br />
