1. All of the City's swimnting pools and spas shall be covered with pool blankets when the pool is <br />not open far use or undergoing cleaning or maintenance. <br />~. Pool blankets may be used during the open hours at the discretion of on-site staff if the pool in <br />question will be unused for a significant amount of time and sufficient staff are available to safely <br />place and remove blankets. <br />E. COMPUTERS AND ELECTRONIC OFFICE. EQ, ,UIā€žPMENT <br />1. Computers shall utilize available energy-saving settings, as recommended by ISD. All staff <br />should verify that these standard settings are in .use and contact the Help Desk if they need . <br />assistance. <br />2. Computers shall be turned off when not in use for the entire day, at night, on weekends and <br />during vacation or other leave time.. <br />3. Printers, multi-function devices and fax machines shall be set to energy saving settings as <br />recommended by ISD. Any machines which do not have energy saving settings should be turned <br />off at night and on weekends and holidays, with the exception of fax machines where business <br />faxes may arrive during off-hours. It is the responsibility of staff using the equipment to <br />deternv.ne if machines have such settings and either implement them or turn off equipment, <br />F. ETHER ELECTRICAL OFFICE EQUIPMENT <br />l . Other electrical office equipment such as laminators, electric hole punches, etc. should be turned <br />on only when needed.. <br />2. Miscellaneous equipment such as coffee makers, radios, and hot plates shall be turned off when <br />nat in use. <br />3, Break room refrigerators should be positioned with sufficient space to provide air flow around <br />tails. Coils shall be cleaned at least annually to maintain efficiency. Any new refrigerator <br />purchased for City use shall be Energy Star rated or approved equal. <br />G. CONTACT INFORMATION <br />1. Malfunctioning equipment can.waste energy. and negatively impact the work environment, <br />Malfunctioning building. equipment should be reported to the Facility Management Division at <br />682-2690 or to the appropriate building manager. ~~ <br />~; Malfunctions of energy saving settings on equipment maintained by ISD, such as PC's, printers <br />or multifunction devices, should be reported to the Help Desk at 682-5075. <br />3. Energy efficiency. suggestions and requests for additional information or staff txaining can be <br />directed to 682-083. <br />4. Staff comments or complaints concerning standards set forth in this order shall be directed to <br />their Division Manager. <br />H.
