For more information, call Gayle Hein at 682-5525. <br /> <br />Joe Manis Jazz Trio Performs on First Friday <br />The Downtown Eugene Public Library hosts a free concert by the Joe Manis Jazz Trio on First Friday, December <br />4, at 6:00 p.m. The trio, featuring Joe Manis on tenor sax, Dave Captein on bass, and Randy Rollofson on drums, <br />will perform traditional jazz standards plus selections from their new recording, Evidence. <br /> <br />These accomplished musicians play regionally and worldwide, performing individually in a variety of genres with <br />artists ranging from the Daddies and Thomas Mapfumo, to Bucky Pizzarelli and Wynton Marsalis. This event is <br />sponsored by the Eugene Public Library, Friends of the Library, and the Eugene Public Library Foundation. For <br />more information, click on Eugene Public Library or call 682-5450. <br /> <br />Climate and Energy Public Forum Covers Land Use and Transportation Issues <br />A public forum will be held on Tuesday, December 1, to discuss land use and transportation issues and how they <br />impact the community’s greenhouse gas emissions and its ability to respond to rising fuel prices and climate <br />change. The meeting is the third of six public forums to be held as part of the development of the Community <br />Climate and Energy Action Plan. The forum is scheduled for 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the meeting rooms at EWEB, 500 <br />East 4th Avenue. Last month about 80 community members attended the public forum on food and agriculture and <br />provided valuable input on what actions community members, governments, businesses and other organizations <br />can take to better mitigate, and adapt to, the impacts of climate change and rising fuel costs.
