WORK SESSION: Joint Meeting with the Planning Commission – Envision Eugene <br /> <br />Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the November 22, 2010, work session of the Eugene City Council to <br />order. Planning Commission President Heidi Bierle called the November 22, 2010, meeting of the Eugene <br />Planning Commission to order. <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy welcomed the Planning Commission and noted its role in the Envision Eugene process. She <br />also noted that there were several members of the Community Resource Group (CRG) present, which <br />included Don Kahle, Pat Farr, Ann Vaughn, <br /> <br />Planning Director Lisa Gardner, Carolyn Weiss, Long-Range Planning Manager, <br /> <br />Ms. Gardner reviewed the meeting agenda. She then provided background on the Envision Eugene process. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Sarah Medary asked participants to introduce themselves and share their percep- <br />tions of the Envision Eugene process and the CRG. <br /> <br />KP and HB here <br /> <br /> <br /> (Mills) <br /> <br /> How we as a comm. Will acc 40 K new people, how to provide jobs, where will they live; CRG a <br />different approach to resolving issue; process is how to listen. There’s an answer there somewhere. <br />(RH) don’t let perfect enemy of good. Meet needs of as many residents as possible <br /> <br /> EE Opportunity to find common ground about what we all like about Eugene. Like that process is <br />outside the box (WR) <br /> <br /> CW ® broadening the group of those involved, will be better project <br /> <br /> Envision Eugene – CRG pick strongest voices and try to collide—very energizing process—hopeful <br />in ways I was not when it started (Kahle) <br /> <br /> Would like to see the process come to an end—getting Envision Eugene fatigue.
