Finance Co~?~uitt ee. J. R. Veitch appeared before the Council in reference to the ~;rad.in~ and r~acads~.izing of 1Vth Street and Ferry Street. The matter w~s referred to the Street Cmmnittee to investigate and i~ave the prope~ Ordinance drawn for these improvements. Petitions for a street light at 20tk Street and University Ave. and at 15th and High Streets were referred to ~he Fire & Water Co~mnittee. The following ~petitions for sewers were read and on motion referred to the Sewer Com~uittee for consideration: 1. On Walnut Street from l{ain Trunk Sewer to Fairmount Boulevard. 2. Between Agate and Beach Streets from 15th Street to Railroad. 3. Between ~,,~oss and Villard Streets from Fairmuunt Boulevard north to connect with the proposed sewer 0n 13th Street. ti., ~n t~e ali. er between Colt~bia Street and Agate Street beginning at Fairmount Boulevard and rtmni~.~ north to connect with the Main Tru~k Sewer at tt~e S. P. R. R. tracks. 5. Beginning at !Sth Ave. and rurming north in the alley between Onyx and Emerald Stre'ets to connect witt~ tt~e ~,~ain Tru~ Sewer at ti~e Souti~ern pacific R. R. track.~ 6. In the alley between Orchard and Villard Boulevard, as the same is platted and of record, to connect with the ~{ain True. Sewe~ ~%ear the O. & C. R. R., and to extend as far south as practical to construct. 7. Co~'~.eneing at ti~e sewer on the Sei~ool Grmmds of ti~e Condon School and run thence south as far as necessary to give complete sewerage for the property between Hess Ave. and Columbia Ave. 8. Along the most Practical route to aoco~mnodate the property between Walnut and Orohard Streets f~om Franklin Boulevard to Fair~?,ount Boul. R. In ti~e alley between University Street and O~x Street, from 15th Ave. no~th to ~ain Trunk Sewer at S. P. Ri[~t-of-Way. 10. To aooo~mnodate the'property lying between 18tt~ and 22nd Streets between University Ave. and Agate Ave. A.petition and re~nonstranee for .the paving of 10th Street from Pearl St, to Mill St. ,and Mill St~e~ from loth to llth Streets; also a petition to pave West ~.~th Street from Charnelton to Blair Street with gravel bitulithie pavement, and a petition for g~-ading and macadamizing Harris Street from 18th to 23rd Sts. a width of 31~ feet, and'a petition for grading and m. acadamizing 20th Ave. from
