April 22, 1913. <br /> <br />Printing Co~nittee was instructed to procure street speaking permits <br /> <br />~nd the City letter beards. <br /> <br /> ~ayor Yoran suggested tl~at he desired to have the Council consider the <br /> <br />question of drafting a new Charter so that the matter can be taken up at an e~rLy <br /> <br />!date and that they consider tt~e idea of I~aving the various organizations of the <br /> <br />'City each furnisi~ a member of ~ ~harter Co~r,znission to be created for tills purpose <br /> <br />The following matters which t~aVe been called to tt~e attention of tt~e ~{~yor <br /> <br />were referred to ti~e ttealth Co::'~aittee for any necessary action: <br /> <br />A complaint of,a filtlkv ct~icken park at 5th and Lincoln <br />Cesspool on Lawrence Street between 2nd & 3rd Streets. <br />~anure in rear of Furdy residence on West 6th Street. <br /> <br />Streets. <br /> <br />Haines of the Sells-t,'loto Co. asked tt~e consideration of the Council <br /> <br />in the ~.atter of reducing the license for circuses, and the subject was referred <br />to the Judiciary Co~nittee. <br /> <br /> A ~,,{r. Dotson asked for per~nission to sell ice crea~a by peddling sam. e about <br />the City, s~n~i was infor~.~ed that he would come under tBe same license re£~ulation <br />that applied to street wagons and could obtain a. license at ~20.00 per quarter. <br /> <br />J. C. ~{acy was appointed by Mayor Yoran as a special police officer, and <br /> <br />upon motion was' confirmed as such by the Council. <br /> <br /> Councilman Striker raised the ~estion.as to the propriety of allowing'the <br /> <br />paving co~panies to work on Sundays, and the motion was ~nade ti~at it is the sense <br />of ti~e Council that it is unwise to t~ave e~ty street Work done on Sundays, and <br />that the Recorder be instructed to request the paving companies to co-op~rate <br /> <br />witt~ the Council in tills respect. <br /> <br />!~otion was ~nade, seconded ~.~nd carried that the Co~u~cil do now adjourn. <br /> City' Recorder. <br /> <br /> <br />
