SEPTemBER 16, 1913._ _~ <br /> <br />Comm~ittee for lnvestlgatiou. <br /> <br />Bids were opened mhd read for the grading and m~eada~,~dzing of 19tt~ Avenue <br /> <br />from Alder Street to, Agate Street under Ordinance ~1~89. Councilman Me}~urphey <br />moved that the Council now finds and determines that the bids of A. C. l~{athews, both <br /> <br />for the g~ading and macadamizing of said street, are the lowest and best bids and <br />that the Council award the contract to said A. 0. ~,-~athews in accordance with his <br /> <br />bids, and that the ~yor and Recorder be instructed to enter into a contz, act therefor <br /> <br />in behalf of the City. Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> <br /> Bids for the improvenent .by, paving of Ci~arnelton Street from 0. & <br /> <br />\Vay to llth Avenue under Ordinance #1388 were opened and read. Cotn~eilman He~urph~ey <br /> <br />moved that the Council now finds and deternines that the bfd of the Clark & I{ener¥ <br /> <br />Uonstruction Co. for a k incix cement base and 2 inch sttrfaee is the lowest and best <br /> <br />bid and that the Cottueil awa~ the contract to said Clark & Hener¥ Construction Co. <br /> <br />in accordance with itc bid and that the .).~a¥o~ and Recorder be instructed to enter <br />into a contract therefor in behalf of the City. ~,,~otion seconded and carried, <br /> <br /> Bids fo~ the paving of the intersection of 6th, Avenue and Oak Street were <br />opened and read; the 0nly Bid for said improvement being that of the Warren Con- <br /> <br />struction Co. for a Standard Bitulithie pmvement. Co~n~eilman McMurphe¥ moved <br /> <br />that the Council finds and determines that said bid is a reasonable bid for the per- <br /> <br />formance of said improvement and that the Couucil mward the contract to said ~arren <br />0onst~ction Co. in accordanoe with their bid and that the N~yor and Recorder enter <br /> <br />,into a contract therefor in be~lf of the City. No second. <br /> <br />Councilman ge!,~urphey moved that the matter of paving Alder Street be referred to <br /> <br />the Street Committee to report at the next meeting of the Council.
