A Resolution declaring the intention of the Council not to grant the use of streets of the City of ~ene for carniw~l purposes was read ~nd on notion adopted. An Ordinance prohibiting the throwing of medicine in the streets, alleys ~nd private property of the city of 5hw~ene was ~ead and passed its second and third readings by title under suspension .of the rule and was pl`aced upon its final passage. Councilmen voting aye 8~ nay none. The Ordinance was declared passed and mmbered #1~3. An 0rdinance..amendi~u~ Section 1 and Section 2 of 0rdim~noe No. 1215 was read the first time ,and le~id over. A recom~'~end~tion of the 5'ire & Water Com~'nittee providi~ for the placing of non to exceed ten fire hydrants on the old water system was on motion adopted, Remonstrances vcere re~d and referred to tlxe Street Cor3aittee ag~inst the ira- provement by paving of the following streets: High Street from the Southern Pacific R~,ilroad north to Third Street. Sixth Avenue front Olive Street to Blair Boulevard. Vfashington Street from Fourth Avenue to Nineteenth Avenue Third Avemm from High Street to Ferry Street. Ferry Street from Third Ave~me to the bridge. Fourtl~ Avenue from Pearl Street to Higi~ Street. High Street fr0~ Eleventh Avenue to 'i%~irteenth Avenue.
