MARCH 16, 191~t. <br /> <br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, March 16, <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to a~lJournment of March 9th, and was called to order <br />Hayom ~Yoran. Presen$ Councilmen Johnson, Koppe, Mc~urphey' Doff, and Bell; <br />absent lIensill, Bean.and Beytien. <br /> <br /> Ohairm~n Bell of the Sewer Com~nittee recommended that the petition for <br />sewer in the alley between 6th and 7th Avenues from ~ler Street to Van Btu'eh <br /> <br />Street be not considered, and offered a petition to be substituted therefor for <br />~the construction of a sewer in the alley between 6th and Vth Avenues f~om Van <br /> <br />Buren Street to Folk Street and recommended its adOptio~ by the Co,moil. On mo- <br />tion the recommendation was .adopted and the Oity Attorney instructed to prepare <br />an Ordinance for the construction cC said. sewer.. _. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance providing for a Board of Censorship for censoring theatri- <br /> <br />cai and operatic performances, moving picture shows and other a~.,~sements, and <br />providing_< a. penalty for the violation thereof came up for general discussion, and <br />Councilman Dorr moved that further consideration of the Ordinance be postponed <br />for one week. The motion was seconded ~nd the ayes and nays were called; COUnc- <br />ilmen voting aye Koppe and Dor~, nay Johnson, Mc~urphey, Bell. Motion was. de- <br />elated lost. ~e Ordinance was thereupon read the third time and placed upon <br /> <br />its final passage, coun. otlmen voting aye Johnson, Mcl~{urphe¥ and Bell, nay Koppe <br />and Doff. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1~92. <br /> <br /> The Finance Co~ittee recommended that ~the Council pay the claim of in- <br /> <br />retest on the }~anerud Judgment in the sum of $67~.00; Attorney Jenkins having <br /> <br />agreed to accept this ~ount in full settlement for the claim of interest on said <br />Judgment, and m motion vms made and seconded that ~ warrant for said stua be <br />drawn in favor of G. F. Skipworth for the purpose of disbursing to the parties <br />entitled to receive the same. The myes.andnays were called; Councilmen voting <br />~ye Johnson, Koppe, MeMurphey, Dorr and Bell, nay none, absent' Hensill, Bean and <br />BeMtien. Motion was declared c~ried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> A motion was made and seconded that the bill of the Eugene Multig~aphing <br /> Co. for $~.00 be allowed and a warrant d~awn, and also that m warrant be d~awn <br /> <br /> ,in favor of Fra~ Reisne~, Treas., for the s~m of ~5.50 being 6 months' inte~- <br />ess on Series "B" ~mprovemen~ Bonds due April 1st.
