The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1501. <br /> Recommendation of the l~ire & %~ater Cor?m..ittee that a street light be <br /> <br />placed at the corner of Ninth Avenue 7~est and Jefferson Street was on motion <br /> <br />adopted. <br /> <br />Street Committee by Cilairmsn Mc~tu~phey reported that they had investi- <br /> <br />gated the remonstrance against the letting of contract for paving of Foumth <br /> <br />Avenue from Charnelton Street to Blair Boulevard and that they found that said <br />remonstrance does. not contain a majority of the property o~ners or a majority <br />of the property along said Avenue, and moved that the re~onstrance be disallowed <br />and denied. }~otion was secor~ed ~nd carried. 1~. Ecl~urpt~ey moved that the <br />Council now finds and determines that the bid of the Olark& Henery ConstD.~otion <br /> <br />Co. for the paving of said Fo%n~th Avenue is the lowest and best bid received for <br />the performe~nce of said work,' and that the contract therefor be awarded to said <br />Company in accordance with their bid, and that all other bids be 'rejected and <br />checks returned to unsuccessful bidders, and tluat the ~ayor and Recorder sign <br /> <br />the contract in behalf of the City, and that the bond of said Company be sub- <br />mitt'ed to the }~a¥or for approval and acceptance. ~otion was seconded and <br /> <br />carri ed. <br /> <br /> ~, 5{c~u~phey, Chairman of the Street Committee, stated that the Coma. i- <br />tree had examined the bids for the parity{ of l~{onroe street from llth Avenue to <br /> <br />lSth Avenue, and find that thg bid of the 01ark & Henery Construction Co. is the <br />lowest and best bid and that ~o remonstrance has been filed against this im- <br />provement, and moved that the Council now finds and determines that the bid of <br />the Clark & t{enery Construction Co. is the lowest and best'bid for the .paving of <br /> <br />said street and that tile Council award tile contract therefor to said Company in <br />accordance with its bid, and that all other bids be rejected and cheeks returned <br /> <br />to tuusuccessful bidders, and that the Mayor and Recorder be authorized to sign <br /> <br />the contract for the paving of said street on behalf of the City, and that the <br />bond of said Company be s~mitted to the Nayor for approval and acceptance. <br />Notion was seconded and earrisd. <br /> <br />Councilman Hc~urphey, Chairman of the Street Co~nittee, reported that <br />the Committee had examined the bids for the paving of Sixth Avenue East from the <br /> <br /> <br />
