Couneil~en voting aye 7, nay <br /> none, absent Devereau×. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1571 <br /> <br /> An 0rdin~nee approving the m~vey, report ~nd plat of the City Enginee~ <br /> for the opening ~nd extension of Fourth Avenue from the West line of Blair <br /> Boulevard to the West line of Tyler Street in the City of hk~gene, and ~ppolnt- <br /> lng viewers to view such proposed street and make assessment of damages and ben- <br /> efits was read aud passed its seoorat and third readings by,~itle under suspen- <br /> si,on of the rule and was placed upon i~s final .passage. Councilmen voting <br /> ~ye 7, n~V none, absent Devereaux. The 0rdln~nce was declared passed and <br /> m~nbered #1578. <br /> <br /> An 0rdinanee levying assessments~ for the improvement of Sixth Avenue <br /> East from the alley West of Oak Street E~.st to High Street was read the first <br /> time and l~id over. <br /> <br /> An 0rdinmnce levying assessments fo~ tt~e construction of a sewer in the <br /> 0ity of Eugene begl~uing at the southeast corner of Agate and 55venty-,second <br /> Avenue East, thence t~orth along the F~%st Side of ,Agate Street to the soutt~ side, <br /> of T~venty-firs$ Avenue, thence west 'to connect with the. eight inch sewer pipe <br /> in alley between Agate Street and Duerald Street w~s read the first mtime and <br /> laid over. <br /> <br /> A Resolution setting ~side the Butte property fop <br /> <br />..trig for ti~e improv~ent of the same by the ?ark Board and n~lng the same Rive~ <br /> View Park was read, and ~ motion was ~%de, seconded and carried to adopt the <br /> Resolution. <br /> <br /> A report .of the ~{ayor and Stree$ Committee to the Co;~mon Council in <br />relation to tt~e franchise of the Portland, Eugene & E~ste~n Railway Co. on <br />Eighth Avenue from Franklin Street to Blair Street was re~d, and a motion was <br />made, seconded and carried tha~ the Cotu%cll adopt the report, and that a copy <br /> <br /> of ~he s~J.~e be furnished to the Povtland, Eugeue & Eastern Railway Co. <br /> <br /> Chairman 1~{c~{urphey of the Street ComJ~ittee moved that the bid of the <br />01a~k & Henery Construction Co. for the paving of High Street from Eleventh to <br />Thirteenth Avenues be accepted and the.contract awarded to said Company in <br />~ccordance with its bid and the ~/ayor, ~nd Recorder instructed to sl&m the con- <br />trae~ in behalf, of the 0ity. ~,{otion w~s seconded and c~rried. <br /> <br />'l <br /> <br /> <br />
