M. of said day. <br /> <br /> The meeting is called for the purpose of awarding contracts for the con- <br />structlon of sewers pursuant to bids whietl were received by the Co~eil September <br /> <br /> 191W. ._ <br /> <br /> Dated, this 16th day of SeRtember, 191%. <br /> <br />D. N. pursuant to the Mayor's call of special <br /> <br />meeting, and Was calledto order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present Councilmen Johnson, <br /> <br />MeHurphe~, Bogue, Bell and Beytien; absent Devereaux and Goodpasture. <br /> <br /> Chairman Bell icl the Sewer Co~aittee reported .that the Committee had <br /> <br />examined the bids fop ~the construction of tt~e Agate Street storm sewer and found <br /> <br />that the bid of C. H. ~{ai~any was the lowest and best bid for said work, ~nd moved <br />that the Council now ~inds a~d .determines that tt~e bid of C. I{. Mahany fo~ the con- <br /> <br />struo$ion of said Aga~e Stree~ storm sewer is the lowest and best bid, and that the <br /> <br />contract therefor be ~warded to him in accordance with his bid, and that the Mayor <br />and Recorder be authorized to sign the same in behalf of the City, ~nd the Mayor <br />directed to accept the~bond fc~ the performance of contract when found satisfactory, <br />and that all othe~ bids be rejected and checks ~eturned t° unsuccessful bidders. <br /> <br />Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> <br />Councilmaa Bell also moved that the Council finds and determines that the, <br /> <br />· bid of }[all & Soleim for the construction of the sewer between Tenth and Eleventt~ <br /> <br />Avenues from Van Buret[ to Polk Streets is the lowest and best bid, and that the con- <br />tract be awarded to said Hall & Solelm in accordance with tt~eir, bid, and the Mayor <br /> <br />and Recorder be authorized to siga the e'ontract in behalf of the City, and the <br /> <br />Mayor directed to accept the bond when approved by him, and that all other bids <br /> <br />be rejected, and checksreturned to unsuccessful bidders.
