0 ~TOBER 19, l~)lk. <br /> <br />I' , . nance was declared passed and numbered #16l~W. <br /> <br /> The Sewer Committee reported that they had examined the bids referred to <br />them for sewer construction,' and now moved that the Council finds and determines <br />that the bid of 01e Solelm for the construction of the sewer between Tenthand <br />Eleventh Avenues from Polk Street to Almaden Street is the lowest and best bid, <br />and thmt the Council award the Contract to him in accordance with his bid, and <br /> <br />the Nayor and Recorder instructed to sign same. <br />led. <br /> <br />Notion was seconded and cart- <br /> <br />Councilman Bell moved that the Council finds and determines that the bid <br /> <br />of Ole Soleim for the construction of a sewer between Ninth and Tenth Avenues <br />from terminus of present sewer west of Monroe Street West to Van Buren Street is <br />the lowest aud best bid, and that the Council award the contract to him in accord <br />ante with hisbid, and that the Mayor and Recorder sign same. Motion was <br />seconded and ea,,tied. <br /> <br /> Councilman Bell also moved that the Council finds and determines that <br />the bid of K. b. Hall for the construction of a sewer between Olive ~nd Charnel- <br />ton Streets from Sixth to Eleventh Avenues is the lowest and best bid, and that <br />the Council award the contract to him in accordance.with his bid, and that the <br />Mayor and Recorder sign the same. Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> <br /> The Recorder was instructed to return checks to unsuccessful bidders on <br /> <br />all the above contracts. <br /> <br />The Sewer Co~nittee by Mr. Bell reported that they had awarded the eon- <br /> <br />tract to C. H, Mahar~y for the ,extension to the storm sewer for the sum of $650.00 <br />and recommended that the contract be dravm accordingly. Motion was m~de, <br /> <br />seconded and carried to adopt the report of the Committee. <br /> <br /> Bids for the paving of Sixth Avenue West from Olive Street to Blair <br />Street were opened and read, and additional petitions and remonstrances affecting <br />the same were also read, and a motion was made, seconded and carried that the <br />bids and remonstrances be referredto the Street Committee to report 0etober 26th0 <br /> <br /> Question of interpretation of the Street wagon license as affecting. <br /> <br />different lines of business was presented by the Recorder, and referred to the <br /> <br />Police 0ommittee. <br /> <br /> Motion was made, seconded and carried that the Council adjourn to meet <br />0etcher ~6, lplt~, at 7:~0 o'clock P. M. <br /> <br /> <br />
