Bilyeu and A. L. Hougj~ton were, at their request, ordered <br />re-filed as of this date in objection to the viewers' report. Counci]~an <br /> <br />~.(el,(~mphey moved that all objections to the report of vi~vers be overruled, and <br /> <br />that the report of viewers be adopted by the Council, and the City Attorney be in- <br /> <br />strueted to prepare an Ordinance for tl~at purpose. Motion was seconded and tt~ <br /> <br />Cotmeil~en voting aye Johnson, ~,{c!,~urphey, Devereaux <br /> <br /> The vote being a tie Hayer <br /> <br />ayes and. nays were called; <br />and Beytien, nay Parks, Bog~e, Bell and Goodpasttu-e. <br />Yoran voted aye w and declared the motion carried. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance preventing dogs from running at large witi~in tt~e City of E~ene, <br /> <br />and providing{ for tl~eir seizure and d~struction, and imposing penalties for the <br /> <br />violation of this Ordinance was read the first and second times, and laid over for ....... <br /> <br />one week. <br /> <br />Bids for the 'p_ainting of street signs presented by I,(ayor 'Yoran were opened <br /> <br />and read, and the matter of awarding the contract was referred to the Street Committee <br /> <br />with power to act. <br /> <br />Councilman Me~,~urphey stated that a waiver had been si2rned by J. N. B. ~ller, <br /> <br />and moved that the Str~eet Co~muittee be instructed to let tl~e contract for the eon- <br /> <br />struotion of a cement sidewalk on the West side of l~{ill Street between Eleventh <br /> <br />Avenue and Twelfth Avenue. <br /> <br />Motion was Seconded and carried. <br /> <br />The i~'ire & Water Committee retch_mended that the petition for a street <br /> <br />'light at the intersection of Tenth Avenue and )~adison street be granted. On <br /> <br /> motion the recommendat,)on was adopted. <br /> <br /> Councilman Parks of the Police committee reported ti~at they had settled <br /> the controversy about the pop corn wagon .on East Ninth Avenue, Mr. ~antor agreeing <br /> to remove his wagon from tt~e objectionable location; and that t~e would suggest <br /> <br />that automobiles be not allowed to stand.on Ninth Avenue from Will~aette to Oak <br />Sbreets and on Eighth Avenue between Olive and Oak Streets. <br /> <br /> A bill for the payment of street force in the sum of ~51.50 was presented, <br />and a motion was made~nd seconded that warrants be drawn on the Road & Street <br />Fund in payment of sai~ bill to the various men.
