102 <br /> <br /> Council Cl~bers, Eugene, Oregon, 0etober 11, 191~. <br /> <br /> Council met in reg~la~ monthly session, and was called to order by <br /> <br />Nayor Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Koppe, Peterson, Deverea~x, Eosher <br />Goodp~sture ~nd Quimby; absent Parks. <br /> <br /> The minutes of Council meetings of Septembe~ 13th, 20th, 2Yth, 0etobe~ <br />~th and ~th were read mhd approved. <br /> <br /> Report of the Street Committee reconu~ending the installation of fou~ more <br />ornamental street lights, one at each corner of Eighth and Olive Streets, before <br />the assessment is levied, the same to be included in the assessment was on <br />motion adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Committee recommended that the petition for a foot bridge <br />over the millrace on Alde~ Street be rejected until such time as Alder Street <br />is improved at that point to Ninth Avenue. Report was on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> W. H. Alexander and V~. B. ~ummey presented a report, approved by Council- <br />man Polders, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reoo~ending the purchase of <br />forty (1~0) co~ls of fir wood not over 12 inches in diameter and ten (10) cords <br />of oak wood from W to l0 inches in diameter; all wood to be ~ foot long. <br />The s~me meeting the approval of the Council the Recorde~ was instructed to <br />advertise for bids for this wood. <br /> <br /> The quarterly report of City Tremsurer ~red Stiekels was read and <br /> <br />ferred to the ?inance Committee. <br /> <br /> Repo~t of the Building ~nspeetor for the month of September <br /> <br />ordered placed on file. <br /> <br /> Report of the Director's of the Eugene Public Library was read and <br />ordered placed on file. <br /> <br /> A Resolution designating the Police ~atron by the title of "Advisory <br />M~tron of the Dep~rtment of. Public Safety" wms read, and a motion was made, <br />second, ed and carried to adopt the same. <br /> <br /> Ar~ Ordinance levying assessments for the construction of m sewe~ to be <br />lmid in the alley between Seventh and Eighth Avenues West from the m~nhole <br />east of ~ouroe Street to the easterly line of Blai~ Boulevard in the Oity <br />of Eugene was remd the second time and objections were called for, and none <br />heard an~! no objections havi~g been filed herein, the Ordinance was on motion <br />read the third time and placed on its final passage. The a~ves and nays were <br />called; Councilmen voting aye 7, n~y none, absent Parks. The Ordinance was <br />declared pas~ed and numbered <br /> <br /> <br />
