NOVF/~BER 15, 19.15. Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, November 15, 1915. Council met pursuant to adjournment of November 8th, and was called to order by ~{ayor Bell. Present Councilmen Pa~ks, Polders, Peterson, Goodpasture, and Quimby; absent Koppe, Devereaux. and ~,(osher. Report of the Finance Committee recomff.~ending the ret~n to George ~. Croner of 37.87, over ikayment of taxes to the City, and recom.~endation of the Street Committee that John Alford be placed on the regular pay roll of the City in the Street Department at a salary of ,~u.00 per month, commencing November 1st. and claim of J. C. Parker for $13.50 were presented, and a motion was made and seconded that same be adopted and claims allowed and warrants drawn therefor. The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye Parks, Polders, Peterson, Goodpasture and Quimby, nay none, absent Koppe, Devereaux and ~oshe~. Motion was declared carried and so ordered. Report of ~. J. }{%~d, Market ~(aster, was read and filed. At this time Councilman Devereaux appeared in Council. An Ordinance adopting and approving the plans and specifications of the ~ity Enginee~ for the improvement of Tenth Avenue '¢{est from Van Btu-eh Street to Polk Street by ~'ading and g~aveling the same was read and passed its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rule and was placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Koppe an,i ~osher. The 0rdinanee was declared passed and nttmbered #1811. An 0rdinanee to amend Section 2 of 0fdic.ante No. 95 was read and passed its second and third readings by title %u'%der suspension of the rule and was placed upon its Final passage. Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Koppe and .~,iosher. The Ordinance was declared passed and nunbered #1812. An Ordinance providing for the regulation of hotels, rooming houses and lodging houses within the City of Eh:gene and providing penalties for the violation thereof was read the fir'st ti~.e and laid ove~. Bids fo~, the eonstruetio2 of a cement sidewalk on the South side of Tenth Avenue from Van Buren Street west 136.75 feet were opened and considered, and a motion was made, seconded and carried that the contract be awarded to George I~o Mo~ls fo~ $52.00 in accordance with t~is bid. t,~yo~ Bell appointed as Members of the Eugene Public Library Board For the term of three years, commencing Novembe~ lk, 1915, Miss Arn~ E. V~iteaker Mr. ~'. W. McAlister and Rev. A. N. Spangler. The Mayor also re-appointed H. A. Tromp a !{ember of the Band Conu~ission for a term of three years.'
