NOVF/~BER 15, 19.15. <br /> <br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, November 15, 1915. <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to adjournment of November 8th, and was called to <br />order by ~{ayor Bell. Present Councilmen Pa~ks, Polders, Peterson, Goodpasture, <br />and Quimby; absent Koppe, Devereaux. and ~,(osher. <br /> <br /> Report of the Finance Committee recomff.~ending the ret~n to George ~. <br />Croner of 37.87, over ikayment of taxes to the City, and recom.~endation of the <br />Street Committee that John Alford be placed on the regular pay roll of the <br />City in the Street Department at a salary of ,~u.00 per month, commencing <br />November 1st. and claim of J. C. Parker for $13.50 were presented, and a <br />motion was made and seconded that same be adopted and claims allowed and warrants <br />drawn therefor. The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye Parks, <br />Polders, Peterson, Goodpasture and Quimby, nay none, absent Koppe, Devereaux <br />and ~oshe~. Motion was declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> Report of ~. J. }{%~d, Market ~(aster, was read and filed. <br /> <br /> At this time Councilman Devereaux appeared in Council. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance adopting and approving the plans and specifications of the <br />~ity Enginee~ for the improvement of Tenth Avenue '¢{est from Van Btu-eh Street to <br />Polk Street by ~'ading and g~aveling the same was read and passed its second <br />and third readings by title under suspension of the rule and was placed upon <br />its final passage. Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Koppe an,i <br />~osher. The 0rdinanee was declared passed and nttmbered #1811. <br /> <br /> An 0rdinanee to amend Section 2 of 0fdic.ante No. 95 was read and passed <br /> its second and third readings by title %u'%der suspension of the rule and was <br /> placed upon its Final passage. Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent <br /> Koppe and .~,iosher. The Ordinance was declared passed and nunbered #1812. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance providing for the regulation of hotels, rooming houses <br /> <br /> and lodging houses within the City of Eh:gene and providing penalties for the <br /> violation thereof was read the fir'st ti~.e and laid ove~. <br /> <br /> Bids fo~, the eonstruetio2 of a cement sidewalk on the South side of <br /> Tenth Avenue from Van Buren Street west 136.75 feet were opened and considered, <br /> and a motion was made, seconded and carried that the contract be awarded to <br /> George I~o Mo~ls fo~ $52.00 in accordance with t~is bid. <br /> <br /> t,~yo~ Bell appointed as Members of the Eugene Public Library Board <br /> <br /> For the term of three years, commencing Novembe~ lk, 1915, Miss Arn~ E. V~iteaker <br /> Mr. ~'. W. McAlister and Rev. A. N. Spangler. The Mayor also re-appointed <br /> H. A. Tromp a !{ember of the Band Conu~ission for a term of three years.' <br /> <br /> <br />
