Council Chambers, Eugene', Oregon, November 22, 1915. <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to adJourr~.~ent of November 15th, and was called <br />to order by Hayer Bell. Present Councilmen Parks, Koppe, Petevson, Deverea~x <br />and Quimby; absent Polders, ]{osher and Goodpast~ve. <br /> <br /> Petition of H. J. Reynolds to make alterations in his building at <br />Sixth and Olive Streets was referred to the ~'ire & Water Co~mnittee. <br /> <br /> Garnishment proceedings against the .City in the ease of Pratt vs <br />Holmes was referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Tke City Hall Co~uaittee reported that they had let contracts to <br /> <br />Gross Bros. fey the i~on ~nd steel work at $2~6.l~0, to T. H. Ellis fox- the <br />concrete work for the s~m' of $298.00 and to Willloauson & Co. for the plumbing <br />work at a price of ~2~.00; ~ll being contracts for the re~odeling for the <br />Piremen's Quarters in the City Hall. That the bonds have been furnished on <br />these contracts, and the ~.~ayor and Re. corder have signed soaue. Notion was <br />made, seconded and carried that the contracts be ratified and approved by <br />the Co~u~cil. <br /> <br /> The following Resolution was read, and a motion was made, seconded and <br /> <br />carried to adopt the same: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the death of the late B. I,'. Dorris, the City of Eugene has <br />lost one of its most esteemed ~nd hi[~ly respected citizens, a man whose career in <br />private life and public office furnishes us an example worthy of the highest <br />commendation, and a precedent, which if followed, could never result other- <br />wise than in the. right to the highest degree.. <br /> <br /> Nv. Dorris served the City of Eugene as its Nayor, a member of the <br />~on~on Council and for twenty-two long years as city Recorder, and rendered <br />during all of said time loyal, unselfish and efficient .~erviee and left a <br />record to be envied by any officeholder, and by such services made the City <br />of Eugene and all of her citizens his debtor forever, '~nd <br /> <br /> WHERF~S, it is fitting and proper that some public expression and <br />permanent record be made of the regard in which I~v. Dorris was held by the <br />City of Eugene, and in conu~endation of his services to the City, <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE I~AYOR AND COI~ON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> <br />OITY OP EUGENE. <br /> <br /> <br />
