That we deplore the death of ~. Dorris. That we recognize in his <br />services to the City rendered not only as a public officer but as a citizen, <br /> <br />the higtlest example of efficiency and usefulness, and that the services so <br />rendered by I~r. Dorris will stand as a monument in the progress of the City <br /> <br />of Eugene as long as time shall last. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHHR RESOLVED: That these Resolutions be spread upon the <br /> <br />permanent records of the City of Eugene and that copies of the same be furnished <br /> <br />to the press and to the family of N~. Dorris. " <br />¢ <br /> <br />Au0rdinance providing for the construction and erection of an, ornamen- <br /> <br />tal street lighting system on both sides of Ninth Avenue between Olive Street <br /> <br />and Pearl Street in the City of Eugene and to assess the costs thereof against <br /> <br />the property ab~tting said street between said points was presented and <br /> <br />objections being called for and none heard and no written objections having <br /> <br />been filed the Ordinance was read the third time and placed upon its final <br /> <br />passage. Councilmen voting a.~e 5, nay none, absent Polders, ~osher and <br /> <br />Goodpasture. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1813. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance providing for the regulation of t~otels, rooming houses <br /> <br />and lodging houses within the City of Eugene,.and providing penalties for the <br />violation thereof was read the second time in full, and a motion was made that <br />the Ordinance be amended by inserting in the blanks in Section i the words to <br />make the Section read, "That on and after the first day of January, 1916, <br /> <br />no per~bn, 'etc." and in Section 3 the word "Six" on line three between the <br />word "containing" and the word "or", and that Section 20, the emergency clause, <br />be stricken out. The motion was seconded and carried. The Ordinance as <br /> <br />amended passed its third reading by title under suspension of the rule and was <br />placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting aye 5, 'nay none, absent <br />Polders, ~osher and Goodpasture. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered <br /> <br />#181~. <br /> <br /> Claim of the City Treasurer for interest on bonds was presented, and <br />a motion was made and seconded that warrants be d~awn in payment of same, as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />Fred G.
