FEBRUARY 1W~ 1916. Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, February 11~, 1916. Council met in re~l~r monthly ses.~ion and was called to order by Kayor Bell. Present Councilmen Parks, Polders, Peterson, Devereaux, Mosher, Good- pasture and Quimby; absent Koppe. Minutes of Council meetings of December 13th, 27th, January 3rd, 10th, 2kth and 31st were read and approved. Rec0n~aendation of the Sewer Conu~ittee that the eight inch sewer con,eno- lng at the corner of Mill and lkth Streets, running South on Mill Street to 17th Street and com~enci~u3 at lkth ~nd Mill Streets and running East on l~th Street to Hilyard Street be reconstructed of l~rger pipe, and directing the Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the same was read ~n(! on motion adopted. The petition for the vacation of certain lots, streets and alleys in Driverton Addition and proof of publication of the same by posting, and an Ordinance for the vacation of a part of Driverton Addition to'Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, and the streets a~! alleys therein were presented to the Council, and referred to the Street Con~ittee ~nd City Attorney for a report at the next meeting. Comm~u~ication from the Eugene V~ater Board showing the eost of ornamental street lights on Olive Street from 5th to 9th Avenues to be $2560.00 was read and fi~ed. A Resolution directing the City Recorder to publish a notice for the Com~on Council to the property owners affected thereby that the profile showing the cost of ornamental lighting, system on Olive Street from 5th to ~th Avenues has been filed and is open to inspection and objections was read and on motion adopt ed. Petition for the construction of a sidewalk on the South side of Second Avenue from Van Buren Street to Blair ~oulevard was referred to the Street Com~ittee. Report of the Building Inspector for January was read and filed. At this time Councilman Koppe appeared in Council. Communication from the City Treasurer presentin~ request of Olarissa Deyoe for the cancellation of interest charge on account Of an old aewer assessment was read and referred to the Sewer Committee. A Resolution directing the cancellation of the paving assessment against Lot t~, Block 1, Klneaid Addition, in the sum of $200.23, and directing the 0ity Treasurer to cancel the same was read and on motion adopted.
