JULY 25, 1916. <br /> <br />was read. <br /> <br /> A Resolution was read providing that the complaint against said house be <br />heard by the Common Council a% the regular session to be held in Council <br />Chambers July 31, 1916, at 7:30 o'clock P. N., and upon motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br />City Recorder. <br /> <br /> JULY 31, 1916. <br /> <br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, July 31, 1916. <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to adjournment of July 17th, and was called to <br />order by Nayor Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Peterson~ Koppe, Nosher, <br />Quimby and Goodpasture; absent Parks and Deveremux. <br /> <br /> Mayor Bell announced that the matter of the rooming house complaints <br />would be referred to the Police Committee for investigation and report back <br />to the Council, and interested parties present were so advised. <br /> <br /> Request of C. P. Devereaux, Councilman, for three weeks' leave of absence <br />was on motion gra~ed. <br /> <br /> Request of the Fifth Avenue Motor Car Garage to make repairs at en- <br />trance to the garage was referred to the Street Committee with power to act. <br /> <br /> Petition that Second Avenue East from Pearl Street to Ferry Street <br /> <br />be opened to traffic was read and referred to the street Committee <br /> <br /> A proposition of compromise of the case of Josie Pullen against the <br /> <br />City from L. M. Travis, Attorney, was read, and a motion was m~de and seconded <br />that the City pay her the sum of $500.00 out of the General Fund, but that <br />the warrant shall not be issued until o~dered by the Council. The ayes and' <br />nays were called; Councilmen voting aye Polders, Peterson, Mosher, Quimby, nay <br />Goodpasture, Koppe not voting; absent Parks and Devereaux. Notion was de- <br />clared carried and so ordered <br /> <br /> Report of the Department of Public Safety for the year ending August <br /> <br />1st was read and referred to the Police Committee and City. Attorney. <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the ~inanoe Committee that the proposition of the <br /> <br />City Treasurer dated July 17, 1916, for the tr~nsfer of balances in special <br /> <br /> <br />
