SEPTEMBER= 11,_ 1916. <br /> <br />instructed to make a plat assessing the cost thereof to the property owners. <br /> <br /> ~ A Co~E~ittee of business men representing the'Bane Co~mty Credit Association <br />0hambers off Commerce, Fair Board and others requested of the Council permission <br />for cigar stores, pool halls, etc. to remain open after midnight on the high, ts <br />of the Lane County Fair. ~otion was made, seconded and carried to grant the <br />permission. <br /> <br /> A con~auni~ation from Oscar Furuset, Attorney, relating to alleged inj,~ies <br />of Norman Fu~uset by a fall on a defective sidewalk was read and ordered placed <br />on file. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance for the construction of a sewer to be laid in the alley be- <br />tween Washington and Jefferson Streets from l[~th Avenue to manhole on V~ashington <br />Street between 12th and 13th Avenues was read and passed its second and third <br />readings by title under suspension of the rule by unanimous consent and was <br />placed upon its final passage. CounCilmen voting aye 7, nay none, absent <br />Devereaux. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1867. <br /> <br /> SID~#ALK: MARY E. BERGER, ROLDAND FOX. An Ordinance providing for the <br />construction of a cement sidewalk abutting the property described in Section <br />One of this Ordinance,' said property being in the City of Eugene was read and <br />passed its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rule by <br />unanimous consent and was placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting <br />aye 7, nay none, absent Devereaux. The Ordinance was declared passed and <br />numbered #1868. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance licensing and regulating motor buses operating in whole or <br /> <br />in part within the City of Eugene, Oregon, and repealing all ordinances and <br />parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and providing penalties for the <br />violation hereof was read the second time in full, and a motion was made and <br />seconded that said Ordinance be amended by changing the age limit in Sections <br />W and 7 from 18 to 21 years, by changing line 6 in Section 15 by inserting the <br />words "to p~operty or" after the word "damages", and by inserting after the word <br />"bond" in line 22 of Section 15 the words "to be approved by the Mayor". <br />Motion was carried.. The Ordinance, as amended, was read the third time by <br />title and placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting aye 6, nay Parks, <br />absent Devereaux. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1869. <br /> <br /> Report of the Water Board for the six .months ending June 13, 1916, <br /> <br />was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> Bill of J.
