!93 <br /> <br /> Council Ch~mbers~ Eugene~,~0regon, September 18, 1916. <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to adjournment of September llth, and was <br /> <br />e~lled to. order by ~(ayor Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Parks, Peterson, <br />Koppe, ~4osher, Quimby and Goodpasture; absent Devereaux. <br /> <br /> The Pinance Committe$ reeonu~ended,th~t, all delinquent assessments be <br />turned over to the City.Attorney with instructions to proceed with the .. en- <br />forcement of p~yment, and directed' the City Recorder to issue warrants for <br />the collection of such delinquent assessments upon the application of the <br />City Attorney therefor. Hotion was made, seconded and carried to adopt <br />the reeonu~endation, <br /> <br /> The Pinance Con~ittee reco..~ended that the l~st V~ater Board report <br /> <br />did not contain m statement of amounts receivable by the Water Board, nor <br />of indebtedness, outside of the bonded indebtedness, if any, and recommended <br />that the report be supplemented under heading to be designated "Contingent <br />Liability" showing its standing under the contract with the Oregon Power Co. <br />Upon motion the reconu~end~tion was duly a~opted. <br /> <br /> The Street Committee recommended that the Street Conu~issioner proceed <br /> <br />to clea~ out the Amazon channel of brush and rubbish at street and alley <br />intersections, clearing out the channel as well as possible. Upon motion the <br />recommendation was adopted. <br /> <br /> A Resolution adopting the plans of the Engineer for a relief sewer on <br />Third Avenue from .the Jefferson Street sewer to the alley b'etween Lincoln and <br />Lawrence Streets, and directing the Recorder to advertise for the construction <br />of said sewer was read, and upon motion adopted. ~'"~-'i <br /> <br /> A Resolution adopting the plans of the Engineer for the re-construction <br />of t~e sewer on Cheshire Avenue from the alle~ between Lawrence ~nd Washington <br />Streets to Jefferson Street, and directing the Recorder to advertise for bids <br />for the construction of said sewer was read, mnd on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> b. N. Travis, Attorney, asked the City to p~y over the $500.00 in <br />settlement of the Josie Pullen case as agreed upon, and upon motion it was <br />ordered that the question of payment be considered at the regular October <br />meeting of the Council. <br /> <br /> The request of Prank Chambers to erect and maintain for not longe~ <br />bhan one year ~ corrugated wall enclosing the south ~nd east sides of m <br />building south of the Elks Building on Olive Street was on motion granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
