I <br /> <br />JANUAHY. 2 , 1917: ....... . ...... -~ <br /> <br /> and City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Petition for street light at the intersection of 19th and Potter <br /> <br /> Streets was referred to the Fire & Water Co~:~ittee, and a paragraph of the <br /> same petition callin~ attention to the w~aring away of the road surface of <br /> 13th Street was referred to the Street Co].m~ittee. <br /> <br /> Request of the Southern Pacific Co. for release of the bond for $10,000, <br /> executed ~,.{arch 12, lg12, for the replacement of street st~face to be opened in <br /> the construction of street car tracks was ~eferred to the Street Co]~ittee and <br /> City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Petition for the abatement of alleged carpet cleaning nuisance on <br /> <br /> East Eighth Street, knov~ as the ~,(oore Carpet Cleaner, was referred to the <br /> Health Co~_mnittee. <br /> <br /> Report of W. b. Cheshire, Health Officer, for the month of December <br /> <br />was read and filed. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance levying ~ssessment for the construction of a sewer in the <br />alley between Washington and Jefferson Street's from lhth Avenu~ to the man]~ole <br />on ?~ashington Street between l~2th and 13th 'Avenues was read the second time, <br />and notice having been given that objections would be heard at this time, <br />objeptions were called for and none heard, and no objections to said Ordinance <br />having been filed, tt~e Ordinance was read the third time and placed upon' its <br />final passage. Co'uncilmen voting ~ye. 8, nay none. The 0rdin~%nce was declared <br />passed~and n~tmbered #1896. <br /> <br /> A report of the Street Co~nittee on the requested franchise of the <br />Southern Pacific Co. for ~ inch water pipe on Folk Street was read, and ~{r. <br />T. O. Russell presented the views of the S. P. Co., ~fter which ~ motion w~s <br />made, seconded and carried to adopt the report of the Committee, and a motion <br />was made, seconded and carried instructing the Recorder to give notice of con- <br />sideration of tt~e Ordinance proposing the terms of the franchise, in accordance <br />with the terms of the City Cha, rter. <br /> <br /> Recommendation of the Judiciary Com3~ittee that the claim of H. R. Price <br />for $75.00 for injury to Edith Price on account of alleged defective sidewalk <br />be paid was read, and a motio~ was made and seconded to ~llow the claim, and that <br />a w~rrant be drawn on the General I~nd in pay~ent thereof, to be delivered upon <br />the filing of a release to the City, approved by the City Attorney. The ~yes <br />and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye 8, nay none. ~{obion was declared <br />carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> <br />
