Street Committee with power to act. <br /> <br /> W. H. Alexander reconu~ended that the City purchase 125 cords of old <br />growth body fir wood k feet long and not less than k inches nor more ttlan <br /> <br />12 inches in diameter. On motion t~e Recorder was instructed to advertise <br /> <br />for bids for same. <br /> <br /> Petition requesting the Council to improve the alley running east <br />and west between Willamette and Olive Streets on the south side of Block <br /> <br />"A" Dorris Addition was referred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br /> A teleg~a~ asking the City to participate in the Recruiting Day <br /> <br />demonstration on the 18th of April from the Chairman of the Recruiting <br /> <br />Committee, New York, on national defense, was read and referred to the <br /> <br />Judiciary Committee and City Attorney with power to act. <br /> <br /> The Finance Committee recommended that the bond of the City Treasurer <br />be renewed, in the same Company as heretofore, of which S. M. Roome is agent. <br /> <br />On motion the recommendation of the Finance Committee was adopted. <br /> <br /> Report~ of the Street Co~issioner, Fire Chief, Building ~nspector <br /> <br />and Recorder were presented and ordered placed on file. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney stated the condition of the ease in the Circuit <br /> <br />Court to which the City of Eugene was made a party by reason of a lien for <br />street improvement against the property involved, and the question of whether <br />or not the City should appeal from the decision of the Circuit Court to the <br /> <br />Supreme Court was referred to the Finance Committee and City Attorney <br /> <br />with power to act. " <br /> <br />Notion was made, seconded and carried that the Council adjourn to <br /> <br />meet April 23, 191V, at Y:30 o'clock P. N. <br /> <br />Oity Recorder. <br /> <br /> <br />
