rice, t-of-way was read and referred to the Street Com~ittee. <br /> <br /> At this time Councilman Goodpmsture appeared in Council. <br /> <br />Petition of the Women's Alliance of the First Unitarian Church for the <br />adoption of the "Daylight Saving Plan" w~s referred to the Health Committee and <br /> <br />City Attorney. . <br /> <br /> Report of Building In.~peetor Alexander for the month of April <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br /> A communication from ~tty Treasurer Stlckels reco~nending the payment <br />to the W~ter Board of the balmnees due on all their accounts for ornamental <br />street lighting inst~llation was read and referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> A report was made by ~ity Attorney ~oster that the matter of lnfrir~e- <br />merit of the p~tent rights in ~he use of the street sprinkler had been taken <br />up with the Studebaker Co., amd that an offer of compromise had been re- <br />ceived whereby the Studebaker Co. had agreed that if the City would pay the <br />Studebaker Nunicipal Utilities Co. $o~0.00 for the use of its patent on the <br />street sprinkler that the Studebaker Co. would give the City m credit of $100.00 <br />toward the purchase of any a~tiele carried by them. A motion was made and <br />seconded that ~ warrant be dra~vn on the Road & Street Fund in favor of the <br />Studebaker Nunicipml Utilities Co. for $P50.00, and that the proposition be <br />accepted, and the warrant delivered upon receipt of the credit of $100.00. <br />The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye 7, nay none, absent <br />Polders. ~otion w~s declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> Councilman Spencer moved that the salary of J. G. ~oeller be changed <br />from $80.00 to $60.00 per month, com~eneing N~y 1st, in accordance with the <br />understanding had beSween the Park Bomrd mhd ~. Noeller. Notion was <br />seconded a~d the ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye 7, nay <br />none; absent Polders. Notion was declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> At this time Counellm~n Devereaux retired from the meeblng. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance creating the Office of punch,sing agent for the City of <br />Eugene, and defining the powers and duties of such officer was read and <br />passed its second and third readings by title under suspension of the ~ule <br />and was placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting ~ye 6, nay none, <br />~bsent Polders and Deveremux.
