The ayes and nays were <br />called; Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Polders. ~otion was de- <br />clared car~ied and so ordered. <br /> <br /> Bills against the City from the ~gene Water Board for light and <br /> <br />Water. from April 1st to December 31st, 1917, were presented and referred to <br /> <br />the Finance Committee to cheek up. <br /> <br /> Councilman Nosher reported that two vacancies had occurred in the <br /> <br />Fire Department by the resignation of E. E. Perdeu and L. Kendrick, and that <br />the Fire & Water Committee had secured the services of Walter Watson at a <br />salary of ~80.00 per month and Owen Baker at a salary of ,'~75.00 pe~' month, <br />cm~neneing January 1st, and Wm. Davis as a call man without salary, and <br />reconu~ended that the action of the Committee be 'approved and these men con- <br />tinued in the employ of the City. Motion was made and seconded that the action <br />of the Committee be .adopted, and that Mr. Watson and Mr. Baker be placed on the <br />re~o~lar pay roll as of January 1st at the salaries as stated. The ayes and <br />naye were called; Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Polders. Eotion <br />was declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> Question of purchase of a wagon ti~rough the Studebaker Mfg. Co., with <br />whom the City has a credit of $100.00 towards the purchase of machinery in 1-~18 <br />was referred to the Street Committee with power to act. <br /> <br /> Motion was made, seconded and carried that the Council adjourn to meet <br /> January 28, 1918, at 7:30 o'clock P.
