Councilmen voting aye Parks, Polders, Koppe, Devereaux, <br />Mosher, Goodpasture and Quimby, nay none, absent Peterson. I~otion was <br />declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> The Recorder read exchange of telegrams with Jas. N. Wright & Co. <br />showing the acceptance by the latter of an amen~hment to their bid providing <br />for the payment of principal ~nd interest on the proposed $15,000.00 Paving <br />Intersection Bonds at the Fiscal Agency of the State of Oregon in the City <br />of New York only. Councilman Polders, Chairman of the Finance Cona~ittee~ <br />moved that the Council now finds and determines that the bid of Jas. N. ~ <br />Wright & Co. is the highest and best bid received for the purchase of said ~ <br />$15,000.00 Paving Intersection Bonds, and that the sale of said bonds be <br />awarded to them in accordance with their bid as amended by their instructions, <br />and that the Idayor and Recorder be authorized to sign the agreement therefor, <br />and that all other bids be rejected and checks returned to unsuccessful bidders. <br />The motion was seconded and carried. <br /> <br /> The Street Conu~ittee Filed a v~'itten report reco~ending that the <br />petition for the paving of Lawrence Street from )'ourth Avenue North to <br />Che.shire Street be denied for the reason that the majority of the property <br />o~ers have signed the remonstrance. The report was on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> The matter of extension and improvement of the Trunk Sewer at the <br />Jefferson Street outlet was, on motion, referred to the Sewer Co:maittee with <br />power to act. <br /> <br /> A Committee from the Lane Co%u~ty credit Association, Lane County <br /> <br />Grange and Co~aeroial' Club appemred before the Cotmcil requesting the City <br /> <br />of Eugene to assist and co-operate in the establisb~nent of a local public <br /> <br /> <br />
