The ayes and n~ys were call.ed, Councilmen voting aye <br /> <br /> 7, n~y none, absent Peterson., and the Ordinance ~was declared passed upon its <br /> re-consideration, ~nd was at this t.ime again app~roved by the ~ayor by 'his <br /> written approval endorsed thereon. <br /> <br /> Now at this time Councilman Goodpasture ~moved that the Council finds <br /> <br /> arK1 determines that the bid of the Clark & }{enery Construction Co. for the <br /> p~ving and other improvement of Alder Street fromm Thirteenth Avenue to the City <br /> Limits is deter]uined to be the l~vest ~n(i best bid for said improvement, ~nd that <br /> the Council now awards the contract for said improvement to said Clark & <br /> Henery Construction Co. in accordance with its bid, ~nd that the Mayor and <br /> Recorder be authorized ~nd directed to enter into a contract with said Clark <br /> <br />'& Henery Construction Co. for said improvement, and that the ~yor <br /> <br /> approve the bond therefor, and that all other bids be rejected ~nd checks re- <br /> turned to unsuccessful bidders. Tt~e motion w~s seconded and carried. <br /> <br /> The Finance Committee reco~ended that ~he request of the ~ation~l <br /> S~rety Co. for certificate covering the term of ~'rank Reisner be denied, <br /> and ~hd said Company referred to the City records of the City of Eugene. <br /> Report was on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> Request of the Southern Pacific Co. for the adoption of an 0rdin~nce <br /> providing for the repairs of Blair Boulevard instead of ~greement as formerly <br /> ha(! between the Council and the Railroad 0ffici~ls was referred to the City <br /> Attorney and Street Co~_~ittee. <br /> <br /> On motion the action of the Mayor in signing the petition for <br /> ornamental lights on F~st ~inth Avenue, representing the ova~ership of City <br /> Hall property, w~s' confirmed by the Council. <br /> <br /> Claim of City Treasurer Stickels for interest was presented as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
