The following petitions were read an~[ referred to tt~e Fire & Water Co~m~itt ee: We:~t 9th. Ave. Te make repairs 'to Bonnett~Bldg. at 9th & Olive Sts. To make alterati~ur~ to dwelling of ~,~rs. H.A. Nathews at lkl, Referred with power to ~ct. For street lights to be installed at point~ near the Oily' Limits on ~irch Lane, on Franklin Boulevard 'andon 15th. Ave. [~. For a fire hydrant to be installed on the main extending East from Fairmount Boulevard on Birch I~ane. 5... For street light to be installed at intersection of ~adison and Cheshire St~,eets. 6. For street ligt~ts at intersection of 2nd. and ?earl Streets and at Suuthern Pacific Crossing on Pearl Street. The matter of p~chasing'coats, hats and boots for members of the Fire De- partment for service use, w~s referred to the Fire & Water Conuaittee with prover to act. The following petitions were read and referred to the Street Com~ittee. 1. To remove the railroad track on North Lawrence Street or have the same brought to ~ade and placed in center of the street. Committee to confer with City Attorney. 2. For an ornamental lighting system on Ninth Ave. from Olive Street to Pearl. Street. 3. For improvement to grade at approach to Southern Pacific Crossing on East 9th. Ave. Request of the Water Board for reimbursement for cost of installing orna- mental Dight Systems on 8th. Ave We~t from Wi.[lamette to Lincoln Streets and on Olive Street from 5th. 'to 9th. Aves. referred to Finance Committee and City Attorney. A report of. the Fire and Water Committee recom~ending the acceptance by ~he City of the Pulmotor offered bythe Oregon Power Company was on motion adopted.
