.Septembel' 13, 1915. <br /> <br />petition :flor a street light at the corner of .~.~adison Street and Cheshire <br />Street be denied, also that the petition for a street light at the intersect- <br />ion of Birch Lane at Fairmozmt Boulevard and Fifteenth Avenue East be denied, <br />also that the petition for a ]tydrant at Fair~aotuat Boulevard and Birch Lane be <br />g/ranted, also tt~at the petition for a street ligi~t at the corner of Pearl <br />Street and Southern Pacific Railroad crossi~ be granted, also that 'the <br />petition for the installation of ornamental light posts upon Ninth Avenue <br />fi'om Olive Street to Pearl Street be &/ranted. Each of said above reports <br />were upon motion duly seconded and carried adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Co~_~ittee reported that they caused a tabard rail to be <br />placed at the crossing of Ninth Avenue East and Southern Pacific Railroad, <br />and that any further improvement at this' time would require considerable <br />work and expense~ and that the guard rail will protect persons from injury until <br /> <br />such time as proper repairs can be made. Report was on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> The 0rdir~ance levying assessments for the improvement of Sixth Avenue <br />West from Olive Street to Blair Boulevard was read the second 'time, and this <br />being the time fixed for hearingzobJections, objections were made by Attorney <br />M. V. Parsons on behalf of R. M. Day and G. S. tleller, and by H. J. Reynolds <br />in person, and after hearing of said objections, on motion the Ordinance was <br />continued under consideration until September 20th at -f:30 O'clock P. N., and <br />the objections e0ntinued for further consideration, and the parties appearing <br />before the Council informed that the 0rdinanee will be further considered by <br />the Council on said September 20th. <br /> <br /> ¥~. Don. C. Sowers reported to the Council his attendance upon the <br /> meeti~gs of the League of Cities at SanFrancisco, as a delegate from the City, <br /> and made an oral report of the proceedings of the va~,ious meetings. <br /> <br /> Councilm~n ~,~osher, Chairman of the Committee on City Hall Building, <br /> reported that the motor and some hose in the building used for fire protection <br /> has been removed, but that he was assz~ed that the motor would be returned and <br /> probably the hose as well. Attorney Hamilton, acting in the absence of City <br /> Attorney Foster, reported on the abstract of title of the High School <br /> property, and this matter together with the question of adjustment of in- <br /> surance at the time of the transfer of the prope~-ty were referred to the <br /> ~inanoe. Committee. and Building Committee. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance for the construction of a sewer from the manhole on <br /> <br /> Sixth Avenue East, at the alley between High Street and Nill Street, through <br /> <br /> <br />
