"'2nd 'Avenue West fro~ the alley east of'Madison Street to Washington St. <br /> Tyler Street fr~ 7th Avenue to 9th Avenue. <br /> <br /> The matter was referred to the Council as a whole ;~hioh is to go and view <br />-Such~'streets at 4;00 o'clock P.N. on Wednesday July ~Oth, 1924. <br /> <br /> The Sewer Co~nittee recom,,uended 'that in the r~ construction of proposed <br />sewers Within the city, the <br />lien ~ainst all the property in the city ~d net assessed ~alnst abutting <br />property and, Ga me,ion, such reper~ was ~epted ~d the city attorney instruct~ <br />te bring In such sewer erdinm'ces dra~ accordingly. <br /> <br />- On request, the City '~gin'eer reported the approximate ~ost of proposed <br /> <br />new sewers In the city. <br /> <br /> The Sewer Committee reported favorably on the construc tto~ of a new sewer <br />in the alley between Washington and Jefferson S .feets from 1st ~venue south t~-*- <br />the 8.P. Ny. tracks. <br /> <br /> J.N. Roberts of Vancouver Washington appeared and informed the council he <br />~nd an associate were thinking of establishing a finger-print bureau in. EUgene, <br />and asked the, city to work in conjunction with him by permitting him to do such <br /> <br />work for the city at a nominal cost in case he does so locate., No action was <br />t ake~. <br /> <br />The Fire and Water Committee reported favorably on the petltlon for street <br /> <br />lights at the folkowlng points. . <br /> In the intersection of the alley between 6th amd 7th Avenues from <br /> OliVe to Charnelton Streets. <br /> On Longvlew Street to be located In the turn Just north of Oraham~s <br /> residence. <br /> On Eelghts Blvd. on the turn Just we~t of Washburne's residence. <br /> 0n Spring Blvd. to be placed nearly south of Campbell Church~s <br /> ~e$tde~o e. <br /> <br />On motion such report wa~ adopted.. <br /> <br /> The Fire and water Committee further recommended ~ large siren be placed <br /> the city hall to warn street trafflcers to beware of the fire engines. After <br />dl~o,~ssion no action was t~ken. <br /> <br /> The l~lre a~d Wate~ Co~lttee also ~eported that fire ~d~ants should be <br /> <br />placed on the top of and near each end of Sklnner~S Bu te for flre protection <br /> <br />for that vicinity.
